Karen Price, Chief Exective, e-skills UK

Karen Price is CEO of the e-skills UK, the employer-led organisation whose remit is to articulate and address the skills needs of industry.

During 2000, she managed the successful merger of the e-business.nto and ITNTO to create the e-skills NTO, with responsibility for the IT Industry and IT skills throughout the UK’s workforce. In 2001, the organisation was asked to extend its reach to include the Telecommunications industry and Call Centres.

Having spent her early career in Education, Karen led the start up of a new company in 1982, and over 12 years held a number of Directorships in the construction and publishing industries. In 1994, she joined IBM UK’s Corporate Affairs Division, prior to holding a variety of roles in IBM Global Services.

Karen regularly serves on government taskforces and ministerial-level think-tanks concerned with industry skills needs, representing employer interests throughout the UK, and the UK’s interests internationally.
